Bursting with basil flavor, this classic pesto is the perfect spread for any crostini, or toss with pasta and top with parmesan cheese. Turning this simple recipe into a side dish that will please even the pickiest of eaters!

  1. Heat your pine nuts on a dry pan to toast them. Stir continuously until they start to darken. This should not take long. Be careful, they burn easily. Once they have started to darken, add the minced garlic to pan and stir for additional 30 seconds. Remove from heat.
  2. Once pine nuts have cooled a bit, add them to your food processor along with the lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pulse until it becomes a sand like consistency.
  3. Add the basil. Pulse until it becomes well combined.
  4. Keep the food processor running while you add the oil in. Then add your Parmesan cheese in. Keep the food processor running until all of the ingredients are thoroughly combined. Add more oil if you would like a smoother consistency. Enjoy!
